Every year, volunteers participate in this program by planting and caring for approximately 170 flowerpots located on the meridians throughout the Island Lakes Community.
Did you know that Island Lakes is the only subdivision in Winnipeg with an initiative such as our Adopt-A-Pot program?
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers who participated in this program in the past and welcome your participation again, as well as any newcomers who would like to share their green thumbs.
Please consider adopting a pot by planting flowers and helping to water them. Your dedication to this program ensures that our community is one of the most welcoming and beautiful areas in the city.
You may plant any type of flower you like. Flowerpots do not have to look the same or be coordinated. Variety is the spice of life!
Once planted, you also need to care for your flowers. So if you go on vacation, please ask a neighbour to water your flowers for you.
We will be in contact with previous participants to confirm their participation this year. If you are interested in adopting a flowerpot this year or would like to confirm one is available, please email Helen at and provide your name, phone number and preferred location of the flowerpot and we will let you know if it is available.
All flowerpots should now have a small numbered tag on them for easy reference.
Happy planting everyone!
